Clinic Description

The American Addiction Treatment Center is a methadone clinic in Gloucester Point. This Clinic offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT)for patients over the age of 18 with opioid use disorder and addiction. At American Addiction the MAT treatment includes methadone and buprenorphine. These medications are used along with individual and group counseling. The treatment process begins with an initial assessment, which is used to customized a patient’s treatment for the best suitability.

Methadone Clinics in Virginia use MAT to work on the brain system, to rebalance the chemistry. Also, used to end the craving for the drug and reduce painful withdrawal symptoms. Suboxone is used to reduce the side effects of the drug. A support system is also created for patients, with families, friends, peers, and other patients. This creates education and sensitization of opioid abuse, between patients and members of their communities. This will discourage others to end up in the same situation.
