Clinic Description
Center for Community Alternatives & CCA Wellness Center offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and outpatient care for those struggling with opioid misuse in Brooklyn, New York. The program also offers services to justice-involved individuals and at-risk youth at various locations in New York City.
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) involves using FDA-approved medication to manage cravings associated with opioid misuse and to lower the risk of relapse. MAT also includes evidence-based addiction treatment so that patients eventually create a drug-free life without the need for medication. The CCA Wellness Center offers methadone treatment and may also offer buprenorphine and naloxone products.
Outpatient treatment at the Wellness Center includes assessments, individual and group therapy, addiction education, life skills training, and relapse prevention. Treatment is designed to allow clients to live substance-free and taper off their MAT medication. As treatment ends, CCA offers aftercare, such as connections to recovery groups, housing and employment support, and wraparound services.
Center for Community Alternatives & CCA Wellness Center offers many services free of charge and may accept Medicaid insurance. They may also refer clients to additional services that accept private health insurance plans such as Cigna, Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Amerigroup, Ambetter, and United Healthcare. Insurance plans vary, so be sure to verify coverage information and out of network benefits with your insurer.
