At Oakland Behavioral Health Clinic, clients are evaluated and assigned to a case management team. Clinicians administer FDA-approved prescriptions, including methadone, buprenorphine/naloxone, naltrexone, acamprosate, disulfiram, topiramate, bupropion, and varenicline to address alcohol, substance, and tobacco use disorder to reduce cravings and ease withdrawal pains. Clients are monitored throughout the treatment to prevent relapse..
In addition to medication management, clients participate in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approaches to build emotional wellness. Motivational interviewing and motivational enhancement therapy are also used to develop life skills and strengthen the clients’ resilience. Clients may become eligible for other clinical services, including career coaching and holistic therapy. Clients may also be referred to outside treatment facilities for specialized care.
