Clinic Description

Norfolk Community Services Board’s Substance Abuse Services offers alcohol and drug rehab services in Norfolk, Virginia. The center provides detox, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), inpatient (IP), outpatient (OP), transitional housing, and aftercare programs for young adults and adults. Specialized programs are available for women.

When clients enroll in Substance Abuse Services, they are evaluated and assigned to a case management team. The case manager may recommend detox, in which licensed clinicians administer FDA-approved prescriptions, such as methadone, buprenorphine, naloxone, and disulfiram to ease withdrawal pains and reduce cravings. Clients are supervised during dosing and throughout their treatment to prevent relapse.

In addition to medication management, clients may also participate in individual and group counseling to strengthen their recovery. Clients with acute cases may be eligible for short-term residential housing, after which clients may transition to supportive housing to further their independence. Social services may also be available.

Norfolk Community Services Board offers self-pay and financing options. Medicaid is accepted. The center may be in-network with Aetna, Beacon, BlueCross/BlueShield, Cigna, Humana, Molina, and Optum. Please check your insurance provider for coverage and out-of-network benefits.
