Cincinnati VA Medical Center offers alcohol and drug rehab services in Cincinnati, Ohio. The center provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT), inpatient (IP), outpatient (OP), and aftercare services for veterans and their families. Specialized services are available for seniors, the LGBTQ+ community, homeless/indigent persons, and underserved communities.

At Cincinnati VA Medical Center, clients undergo an evaluation and are assigned to a case management team. Licensed clinicians administer FDA-approved prescriptions, including methadone, buprenorphine/naloxone, Naltrexone, acamprosate, disulfiram, topiramate, bupropion, and varenicline to address alcohol, substance, and tobacco use disorders. Clients are supervised during dosage and throughout their treatment to prevent relapse.

In addition to medication management, clients receive cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approaches to build emotional wellness. Motivational interviews and motivational enhancement theory are also employed to develop healthy daily living routines. Nutritional guidelines and access to social services are also available. Acute cases may be eligible for inpatient rehabilitation. The center may make referrals to outside treatment facilities and specialized substance abuse programs.
