Clinic Description
The SOFAR Program at Boston Medical Center is located in Boston, Massachusetts. SOFAR stands for Supporting Our Families through Addiction and Recovery and serves families and children who have been impacted by opioid dependency. The facility provides pediatric primary care for children of adults navigating addiction recovery through inpatient treatment, outpatient care and aftercare support. The center accepts self pay options, Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance.
Inpatient treatment provides medical support to children and parents who are recovering from drug dependency. Similar to a drug rehab facility, the care offered at SOFAR is individualized and includes counseling services and detox treatments including FDA approved medications like methadone, suboxone, Sublocade and Vivitrol.
Their outpatient care allows clients to have flexible treatment plans for opioid dependence and equips them with critical skills for continued sobriety. Patients will find continued support through a dedicated case manager, opioid overdose education and Narcan rescue kits.
Once treatment is complete clients can receive aftercare. This includes community support such as 12 Step programs like Narcotics Anonymous.
