At South Shore Hospital, clients undergo a personalized screening and are assigned a case management team. In conjunction with the South East Alcohol and Drug Abuse Center, South Shore Hospital provides FDA-approved medications, including methadone and Suboxone, to ease withdrawal pains and reduce cravings. Clients also participate in evidence-based therapies to prevent relapse. The detox program lasts 1-3 days.
In addition to medication management and detox, clients participate in group and individual counseling to address co-occurring mental and behavioral health disorders. A 14-day program enables clients to build resilience and develop healthy living habits and routines. Additional referrals may be available for outside treatment centers for specialized substance abuse programs.
