Clinic Description

The University of New Mexico Hospitals has an Addiction and Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) for adults living in and around Albuquerque, New Mexico. The primary care clinic is located on Yale Boulevard and it provides preventative medicine to help you overcome your addiction. Here, you’ll find medication assisted treatment along with counseling and comprehensive case management services.

Something unique about this facility is that it offers a New Start program for people who are just starting their road to recovery. You’ll participate in 12 weeks of treatment that includes at least two hours of services each week. They utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to help you dig into the root of your substance use disorder, understand your triggers and lay the foundation for long term sobriety. In addition to individual counseling sessions, there’s also a women’s only therapy group available.

If you need help detoxing from harmful substances before beginning treatment here then you’ll start in their ambulatory detox program. This service medically assists clients who are withdrawing from alcohol, opioids or other drugs. They also offer opioid replacement therapy using FDA approved medications like methadone and buprenorphine.
