The Seattle VA Medical Center, part of the Puget Sound Health Care System in Seattle, Washington, offers alcohol and drug rehab services, including opioid recovery. The center provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT), detox, dual diagnosis care, inpatient (IP) and outpatient programs (OP), and aftercare for veterans and their families. Specialized services are available for the LGBTQ+ community, homeless/indigent persons, seniors, gender-specific groups, and underserved communities.

In addition to medication management, clients receive individual and group therapy to address co-occurring mental and behavioral health disorders. Clinicians use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviews, and motivational enhancement therapy (MET) to enhance clients’ sobriety. Life skills development, trauma therapy, primary care, and social services are also available. The Seattle VA Medical Center provides a nurses’ advice line and a hotline. Clients may be referred to other VA treatment centers or substance abuse programs.
