Clinic Description
Baltimore VA Medical Center’s VA Maryland Health Care System provides primary, mental, and behavioral health care for military personnel, veterans, and their families. Their programs include medication assisted treatment, crisis intervention, general outpatient programs, and aftercare programs. Specialized services are available for adolescents, seniors, the LGBTQ+ community, and those with co-occurring disorders. Telehealth appointments may be available. They’re located in Baltimore, Maryland.
Their medication services are designed around your individual care plan. A team of multidisciplinary providers can administer FDA-approved addiction medications. These can include methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone, acamprosate, and disulfiram to help you detox from alcohol, opioids, and other substances. These meds ease the physical pain of withdrawal, minimize cravings, and help reduce relapse risk.
In addition to medication services, outpatient programs are available to help you address your emotional and mental aspects of addiction recovery. These services include individual and group counseling, addiction education, relapse prevention, life skills, and connections to community health services.
In addition to military benefits, they accept most major insurance plans. Contact your provider to verify coverage because out of network benefits can vary. Financial assistance is available.
