Clinic Description
The Minneapolis VA Medical Center is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They provide behavioral health and addiction recovery services for military personnel, veterans, and their families. Their programs include medication assisted treatment and outpatient care. Dedicated services are available for teens, seniors, the LGBTQ+ community, homeless persons, and those with co-occurring disorders. Telehealth appointments are available.
The medication services allow you to safely detox from alcohol and drugs under medical supervision. As they monitor the withdrawal process, providers may administer methadone. This is an addiction medication approved by the FDA to reduce your physical pain and reduce relapse risk.
They also offer outpatient treatment to help clients learn more about their addiction, identify triggers, and develop healthy coping skills for recovery. Specific treatment plans and levels of care are based on your exact needs and recovery process. Available services include individual and group counseling, medication management, and peer support groups. When you complete your treatment, providers can refer you to other community recovery resources. This includes additional counseling and rehabilitation services.
In addition to military benefits, they’ll also work with most commercial insurance plans. Ask your provider to verify your coverage as out-of-network benefits can vary.
